The Blacklist season 8 episode 12 is still two weeks away from airing on NBC. Yet, the network has been sharing information of what's coming ahead for Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader) and Elizabeth "Liz" Keen (Megan Boone). Here are some of the things fans can expect in the story.
The Blacklist season 8 episode 12 is titled "Rakitin," someone who has been already featured earlier this season. First appeared in the "Elizabeth Keen" episode, this man was introduced as an elusive hacker who knows something about what's going on with Red and the "Man from the East."
Rakitin's potential ties to the U.S. government make him even more essential in further driving Liz and Red's storyline. He possessed some valuable information, which could be used to uncover more secrets. This master hacker also managed to fake his death, though Red didn't believe it.
Now, in The Blacklist season 8 episode 12, the Task Force will do everything they can to reveal the identity of the Russian asset in the United States government. But then, their move further puts Red and Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) in a dangerous situation.
Meanwhile, it is still uncertain whether or not Liz is coming back within this episode. The character hasn't been seen in the series for quite some time now, though her doppelganger appeared in "The Cyranoid" episode. But, despite being absent in the story, it's clear that she is plotting something to take Red down.
One more episode is coming before The Blacklist season 8 episode 12. In episode 11, titled "Captain Kidd," the promo seemingly hints at the heated argument between Red and Cooper. Their situation starts to head in a different direction after Liz handed the drive to the latter.
The drive came from the "Man from the East" and this could be evidence to prove that Red is actually N-13. There have been a lot of speculations that he is a double agent, with some believing he wants the Russians to believe that he's on their side when the truth is that he's connected to the U.S. government.
In the promo, Cooper is determined to know everything but Red asked him to let go of it. Perhaps, there is a huge secret that the former can't know about that's why the latter warned him to stop digging. However, Cooper won't stop until he finds the truth.
The Blacklist season 8 episode 12 airs on Friday, April 2, on NBC.
