Rumors have it Song Joong Ki is now preparing to return to Cambodia to continue filming his new movie, Bogota. However, with the continuous threat of COVID-19, will this push through?

Song Joong Ki is reportedly in a discussion if he will resume Bogota's filming in a different country or not. As nothing has been confirmed yet, here's everything you need to know about the film's production.

An official from Megabox Central PlusM, Bogota's distributor, told News1, via AllKpop, that the 35-year-old star is in talks to continue the film's production in summer. The said official revealed the movie's team is now preparing to resume the filming, though they're still checking the country's condition as the COVID-19 pandemic is still looming.

So far, nothing has been concretely decided yet, but there are reports they are already considering to continue filming in July or August. The film's cast and crew first flew to Colombia in January 2020.

They completed about 40% of the movie until COVID-19 happened, Soompi noted. With the dangers and complications that came with the virus, which eventually turned into a pandemic, they had to stop the filming and went back to Korea in March 2020 with Song Joong Ki.

Megabox Central PlusM announced then that they would resume the movie's production this year. On Wednesday, March 24, rumors started swirling Bogota's cast and crew would fly back to Colombia in July and stay there for a month to complete the movie.

Before they leave the country, they have to film some scenes in Korea first, starting from May to June. There are reports that if the movie's production in Colombia will push through, only a few staff members will go, excluding the actors.

Their scenes may only be added through visual effects, so Song Joong Ki may not be part of the group leaving the country. A source said the plans to resume the filming are not yet set.

The internal team is still reviewing the possibilities, and there are many things to consider. On the other hand, the agencies of Song Hye Kyo's ex-husband and Lee Hee Jon revealed they hadn't received Bogota's filming schedule from the production team yet.

Bogota tells the story of young Koreans who immigrated to Colombia in the early 1900s. It will be directed by The Unfair director Kim Sung Je, along with Song Joong Ki and Lee Hee Jun.

After his comeback on tvn/Netflix's Vincenzo, per Pink Villa, fans will once again their favorite actor on the big screen. Though, it may still take a little while because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
