From a nobody to a global phenomenon, BTS has worked hard to achieve the fame and success they have today. Along with their achievement is having a legion of fans, called ARMY, but did you know before they have been stanned hard, there are a lot of misconceptions about them?

Add to that the xenophobia and racism they receive, BTS has been through a lot before attaining what and where they are today. As #ARMYConfessionTime trends on Twitter, here are the most common misbeliefs about the fan-favorites RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

Confusing Names

The ARMY members admitted they were once confused with the group's names when they were new fans. According to Koreaboo, one of the most common misconceptions about the boys is believing V and Taehyung are two different persons.

Nope, they are only one. His real name is Kim Taehyung, while his stage name is V, and he's the band's singer-songwriter. Next is, fans thought V Live is made especially for V.

No again, it's a video streaming service that lets South Korea-based celebrities do a live broadcast whether to chat with their fans, perform, or more. Fans may have only seen him in one of its live broadcasts and quickly believe it's solely for him because of its name.

Another thing that confuses fans about BTS is Jin and Jimin's names, which are somehow alike, so they thought they were related. One fan even mistook them for siblings.

Undiscovered Talent, Great Song Lyrics

Another fan confessed he's not aware how big the BTS's fandom is, India News TV noted. He thought people only love them because of their good looks, not knowing their songs' lyrics have great messages that could bring people together.

A different fan claimed he didn't know Yoongi is a part of the group as a whole, thinking he is a solo artist with who they just frequently collaborated. Lastly, a Twitter user named Thirstae revealed he searched for "Blood Sweat Tears" lyrics using the keywords BTS money, money song.

Bad Public Opinions

BTS has been the subject of bad public opinions. They are often the topic of criticisms stemming from xenophobia, racism, and hate.

The boys have dealt with unfair treatment and discrimination while trying to break into the western music industry. Despite their worldwide fame, U.S. radio stations still refuse to play their music because it's in Korean, per Elite Daily.

They strongly believe their listeners won't enjoy non-English songs, not knowing many Americans actually love their tunes. Anyhow, amidst all these issues, it can't be denied that BTS has penetrated the international music scene and is now making a name all over the world.
