The members of BLACKPINK continue to gain praises and adoration from the public. But, the tune seemingly changed recently when vocalist Jennie received backlash from many netizens.

This came after she faced accusations that she broke the country's strict social distancing measures. But, based on official statements, the "SOLO" singer did not violate any of the COVID-19 protocols.

AllKpop said that the confirmation came from the arboretum Jennie had visited for a project. It was a "business visit," adding that meeting with more than five individuals under this condition is not prohibited.

The controversy emerged after the BLACKPINK member posted several photos on Instagram, featuring her trip to the arboretum. One of the images features seven hands holding the same number of ice cream packs.

Considering that Jennie did not mention any details about the reason behind the trip, the public theorized that she met with more than five individuals to a public venue amid the pandemic. The talks became even more apparent when she took down the photo and replaced it with an image of her, holding an ice cream.

As the accusations continued to develop, the K-Pop idol maintained her silence, and has since avoided sharing her side before her audience. But, the arboretum immediately spoke up to clarify what happened.

On the venue's official page, officials noted that it was not a personal trip. "She must have taken photos after wrapping up the job."

As for the exact activities that they were doing in the arboretum, no word has been shared yet. Nevertheless, this has since sparked the speculations that the BLACKPINK member might be gearing up for a new project.

Some reports asserted, though, that she was filming a video for YouTube. But, whether it is for her own channel or not, no one could confirm yet.

All four members of BLACKPINK are currently working on their respective solo projects. While Lisa and Rosé are prioritizing their debut as solo artists, Jisoo is taking most of her time for her upcoming drama series, Snowdrop.

Meanwhile, Jennie has been active on her YouTube channel, which she launched earlier this year. She has, also, placed her focus on various magazine cover shoots and interviews.

The Korea Portal previously reported that the "SOLO" singer is set to work, as well, for a collaboration with V Magazine's Chanel feature. As announced, she will be working with Hollywood celebrities, Margot Robbie and Lily-Rose Depp.
