McDonald's will release a super sweet version of its famous blended soft serve dessert in the U.S. next week.

The company is also offering customers a chance to get one for free through its mobile app at participating restaurants across the nation.

The fast-food chain announced Wednesday that its new Caramel Brownie McFlurry will be offered at participating restaurants for a limited time only. The company did not say when it would be pulling out the product from its menu.

McDonald's said the new flavor should become available on May 3 at select outlets nationwide. During the same day, customers can access their mobile apps to get a chance to get a free Caramel Brownie McFlurry.

"Simply scan the offer code in McDonald's App and pick up our newest treat at your local participating restaurant, no purchase necessary," McDonald's said.

According to the fine print on its social media promotions, the free Caramel Brownie McFlurries will be limited to one user per app. New users will be eligible to get the free flavored soft serve blend after they download the app and register for an account.

McDonald's is also offering another way for customers to get a free Caramel Brownie McFlurry. From May 3 to May 9, customers who make a minimum purchase of $15 on McDelivery with Uber Eats will get a free regular-size Caramel Brownie McFlurry, the company said.

McDonald's first introduced the Caramel Brownie McFlurry in Canada in 2017. The flavor is still available in the country at select branches. The Caramel Brownie McFlurry blends vanilla soft serve with caramel and brownie pieces.

"As our fans rejoice in the changing of the seasons, we're excited to give them a new way to enjoy our most iconic dessert. In fact, the flavors in our new Caramel Brownie McFlurry are inspired by that first-warm-day-of-the-year feeling," McDonald's senior director of culinary, Chad Schafer, said.

The Caramel Brownie McFlurry is one of several limited-time McFlurry flavors released by the company in recent years. In September last year, the company released the Chips Ahoy! McFlurry. In mid-February, the company released the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry as part of its St. Patrick's Day promotions.
