Plastic surgery remains taboo even in the entertainment world where many celebrities opt for it--even in the K-pop world. Behind the perfectly shaped faces, noses, and overall pleasing aesthetics of your favorite K-pop idols, some of them have gone under the knife.
A new video of the second-generation idol Crayon Pop's Way on YouTube, Wayland, revealed the most sought-after cosmetic procedure among K-pop stars. The ones who have admitted and yet to disclose if they had plastic surgeries are also shown to complete the list.
Most Chosen Plastic Surgeries
According to Way, via Koreaboo, the most chosen plastic surgery is cosmetic dentistry. About 90% of K-pop idols have undergone gum contouring surgery to make their gums look prettier.
They also have veneers installed to have that perfect smile, along with teeth-straightening and teeth whitening. Sadly, not every procedure is ideal and someone's veneers fell off in the middle of a live broadcast.
The next one is facial contouring, which comes with a variety of procedures. This includes non-invasive fillers and jawbone shaving, among others, that will make your face look "smaller and prettier," though it also comes with severe side effects if done wrong.
Of course, breast implants will not be gone on this list, knowing it is one of the most famous procedures not just by K-pop idols but also by other entertainers worldwide. However, some idols have to undergo this augmentation upon their companies' recommendations.
Lip fillers are also one of the most-picked plastic surgery of idols, including Way herself, though it can also go wrong and result in infections and inflammations. Lastly, the most well-known procedure K-pop idols undergo is double eyelid surgery, which creates an artificial crease in the monolids.
K-Pop Stars Who Admitted And Denied Undergoing Facial Procedures
Though a lot of K-pop stars are yet to admit they have undergone facial procedures, some are brave to talk about it openly. Channel Korea noted they are not shy of what they did and even proud of its perfect result.
Some of them are Super Junior's Kyuhyun, who has got his eyelids altered, DIA's Chaeyeon, who had fixed her nose, and ZE:A's Kwanghee, who revealed he had improved everything on his face. The latter even called himself a "brilliant piece of plastic surgery."
On the other hand, other celebrities are often surrounded by rumors that they have undergone different reconstructive surgeries but yet to admit. One of them is BLACPINK's Lisa, who allegedly had a nose job, as well as BTS's Jimin and Jungkook, per KpopStarz.
Lastly, fellow BLACKPINK member Jennie may have the loveliest face, but some believed she had facial shape restructure and eye enhancement. Though she is yet to address this issue, fans stress she used to have smaller eyes and square-shaped faces in her old photos.
