The popularity of Prince Harry is falling while public perception of Prince William has been growing favorably and this has reportedly sparked jealousy on the part of the Duke of Sussex.

According to royal correspondent Camilla Tominey, Prince Harry looks likely frustrated that his positive rating, especially with the British public, has flipped. A recent poll revealed that six in 10 people want Harry and Meghan Markle to stop using their royal titles after their attacks on the royal family and the institution.

Harry has claimed in his new mental health documentary series that the source of their sadness was their royal life and that he never wanted the job in The Firm even before he met his wife. He said that he was not comfortable under the royal spotlight yet he was always told to "play the game" if he wanted to make his life easier as a royal.

Tominey said that William and Harry had a "highly competitive relationship" even before the latter decided to move to California with his wife and create their own life outside of the royal fold. Harry and Meghan always felt that they stood under the shadows of William and Kate Middleton in Kensington Palace.

But years before the airing of his interviews attacking his own family, Harry once said that there has been a bit of jealousy between him and William. Then 28 years old, Harry said that William envied that he could fly aircraft and serve in the military war zone.

Harry was on two tours of duty in Afghanistan and had a decade of military career before he was pulled back due to the risk of his work in the Middle East. While Harry was able to do a different job from his royal role, William got to briefly fly an Apache helicopter for an air ambulance unit in England. His flying career was short-lived because he was then called upon to serve the queen as a working royal.

The royal expert also said that both Harry and William have been playing the game, especially with the tabloid media, which has been obsessed with the royals, especially of their mother, the late Princess Diana. Only, William has taken the good parts of Diana's playbook to engage the media for good as he raised issues on mental health awareness. Prince Harry, on the other hand, has focused on the bad side of public relations by creating a narrative centered on his woes and struggles to get his mental health message across.
