Despite the issues and controversies One Punch Man Season 2 experience, fans are still waiting for Saitama's story to continue in One Punch Man Season 3. However, three years after the second season ended, there are no words yet if the third installment will push through or not.

Several reports about One Punch Man Season 3 are swirling online, but most of them are either fake or just mere speculations at all. So far, no one knows the status of the series as its studio and even the creator Yusuke Murata remains mum about it.

With the franchise's popularity, fans trust there is no way for the show to be canceled. So, it is only a matter of time on when the series will continue.

Its manga version is still ongoing and fans are continuously waiting for Murata to drop new chapters no matter how unpredictable his schedule is. With the dubious release and the long gap between Season 1 and Season 2's coming, does it mean it will be just a long wait before fans see Saitama on the small screen again?

According to BlockToro, One Punch Man Season 3 was expected to be out this year, but that would surely not happen, seeing there was no update about it. The possible reason as to why the anime is delayed is due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the height of the virus' surge, Japan imposed a lockdown that put everything on a stop, including all kinds of entertainment production. Though everything gradually returns to normal, the studios focus more on their current projects than the future ones.

In addition, rumors have it the anime may change its current animation studio after the controversies the second season experienced. When J.C. Staff took over the anime's production, it was far from what Madhouse did in the first season.

CBR noted there was no way for J.C. Staff to continue the "incredibly high standards" Madhouse set due to lack of resources. The first season gathered the Japanese anime industry's top talents, including the top animators from Studio Bones, Studio Trigger and Wit Studio.

It also had a more relaxed production schedule and fans loved the source material, which was a total opposite of J.C. Staff. Fans felt the second season was rushed, which resulted in poor ratings.

Despite that, fans expect One Punch Man Season 3 to still see the light of the day, per Devdiscourse. Though its plot is yet to be revealed, viewers may see more action-packed scenes as the heroes are now on their way to attack the Monsters' hideout.

Of course, it will feature the much-awaited fight between Saitama and Garou and other exciting events.
