K-pop stars' diet is a big hit, not just in Korea but all over the world. A lot of people follow this practice, including Girls' Generation's Taeyeon.

Taeyeon has been known for her slender figure. Though she used to be on the heavier side before, things have now dramatically changed. So, what is the Girls' Generation member's secret?

In an appearance on the variety show "Petkage," the 32-year-old star shared her diet to maintain her petite physique. Surprisingly, she only follows a simple diet, though there is no easy way to lose weight.

According to Koreaboo, the singer mostly eats salad. In fact, on the show, other guests orderd a feast composed of seafood, soups, ramyun and more.

However, Super Junior's Kim Heechul noticed Taeyeon only ordered a salad, making all of them wondered how she would be full. The "We Got Married" star explained she preferred to eat lighter meals and eat small portions frequently instead of three large ones.

By the looks of it, Taeyeon's effort has paid off, though she has been doing this for a long while now. There is no easy route to losing weight and self-management is a must.

This news comes after the Girls' Generation singer revealed she left her K-pop idol training after finding it hard to reduce weight. In an episode of "You Quiz on the Block" with fellow group members, she told an interesting story about her trainee days, AllKpop noted.

At the time, she almost gave up her dream to be a K-pop superstar even before she debuted. Taeyeon admitted she wanted someone to hold onto her, as she did not want to let go of everything yet.

However, as she was chubbier than others back then, she found dieting "so difficult." She knew she had to sing but would often get comments about her body and how she had to be skinny like others.

Sadly, losing weight was not an easy thing for her back then. She eventually got angry and frustrated that she went back home.

Seohyun seconded Taeyeon's revelation, recalling their managers did not let them eat during the beginning of their debut days because they had to follow a diet. However, they still tried to sneak some chocolates to enjoy.

Meanwhile, the Korean diet that many K-pop stars love is now a hit all over the world, per Today. It has been known that traditional Korean foods heavily focus on fruit, soy, steamed vegetables, rice and fish.

Even fermented foods, like kimchi, helps to lose weight. The K-pop diet is also known for being "minimally processed" and low in sugar and fat; that is why it comes effective.
