Former President Donald Trump slammed President Joe Biden for sleeping while he was at the international climate change conference in Scotland. Trump implied that snoozing at the conference really meant that Biden never really cared about the "Global Warming Hoax" despite his repeated rhetoric that it was the country's number one priority.

Trump's statement, which was spread through an email blast, was made following the release of a video that showed the president nodding off during the UN climate change summit Monday. In the video, Biden is seen closing his eyes for about 40 seconds during the COP26 summit before he was roused by one of his aides.

Trump claimed that Biden fell asleep because even he could not bear listening to more talks about global warming. Trump also used the opportunity to blast his grievances on a number of issues, including what he called the "2020 Presidential Elections Scam," "the Impeachment Hoax," and the "No Collusion" findings in the Mueller Report.

"Biden went to Europe saying Global Warming is his highest priority, and then promptly fell asleep, for all the world to see, at the Conference itself. Nobody that has true enthusiasm and belief in a subject will ever fall asleep," Trump said.

During his speech at the summit, Biden also took some potshots at the former president, apologizing to the audience for the actions of the "last administration." Biden was seemingly referring to Trump's decision to pull out of the Paris climate accord. Biden said that his administration would be taking a completely different approach as he had no plans to "condemn future generations to suffer."

Biden has recently been pushing for his $1.75 trillion social spending package, which will include a $555 billion budget for climate-related spending. The $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill within the package also includes spending for weather resiliency programs, $7.5 billion for a new EV charging station network, and $5 billion for new electric school buses.

While he was still the president of the United States, Trump had repeatedly inferred that global warming was a hoax. Scientists and climate experts have repeatedly expressed their disagreement with Trump's assertions.

Over the past few years, evidence for climate change has mounted given the continued occurrence of extreme weather, which has become more commonplace globally. A study published last month found that about 99% of climate scientists now agree that global warming is real and the major cause for it is human activity.
