Kanye West's fight to be close to his family continues as he buys a $4.5-million home across Kim Kardashian and their kids' house in Hidden Hills, California, earlier this month. According to reports, the rapper didn't mind spending $421,000 more than its original asking price to be near his former wife.
Built in 1955, a source called the abode a "teardown," revealing West bought the house solely to be close to Kardashian and their children. Would this give the two the chance to rekindle their romance?
The insider told People the fashion mogul bought the home for its location, knowing it was nearby the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" alum. After closing the deal, the record producer is now eyeing to start the property's construction as soon as possible.
The tipster added Ye wanted the house to be "family-friendly" so that he could have the kids over as much as he wanted to. Living in Malibu made visiting the kids trickier for him, so it might be the reason he bought this property.
A different source also told People West quickly made the deal as soon as the house came on the market. When he realized he could be near his family, he immediately "jumped at the idea." "He wants to be close by and be there for the kids," the insider added.
For starters, Kardashian paid her former husband $23 million for his share of their Hidden Hills home that they purchased in 2014. The said amount included the $20 million price of the property and the $3 million for its art and furniture.
The ex-couple is now seeking joint legal custody of their four kids, North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2, after the Skims founder filed for divorce in February. Despite the separation, they both want to co-parent their children as they polish the details of their divorce.
Another insider told Us Weekly earlier this month that the aspiring lawyer wanted West to remain a big part of their kids' lives. Though they had already parted ways, he would still be invited to all family holidays and celebrations.
Anyhow, West is not yet giving up on his love for Kardashian. He has repeatedly hinted at his intention to renew their relationship and get back together with the KKW Beauty mogul.
In fact, in his appearance on the "Drink Champs" podcast, he said his kids wanted their parents to "stay together." He definitely felt the same, adding he also wanted them together. Sadly, Kardashian seemed to have already moved on with Pete Davidson, while West, reportedly, recently broken up with his alleged model girlfriend, Vinetria.
