Amid the talks surrounding Prince Harry's absence at the recent memorial service for Prince Philip, one royal expert claims Queen Elizabeth II has a "compartmentalizing" relationship with the Sussexes. Despite everything that has happened, Meghan Markle's husband may still have a strong relationship with his grandmother.

Royal expert Robert Hardman told the "Palace Confidential" podcast Queen Elizabeth is "very good at compartmentalizing" while talking about her relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. With that said, did she just understand why the Sussexes did not attend Prince Philip's memorial service?

Express noted Prince Harry and Prince Philip are known for having a good bond. They used to be seen smiling and laughing together whenever they were out and about.

Hence, many were surprised when the controversial prince decided not to attend his grandfather's memorial service, probably due to safety concerns. For starters, he was stripped off of his royal protection after stepping down as a senior royal.

Despite that, it is still widely believed he has a strong bond with his grandmother. Hardman, who is behind several royal documentaries, revealed there is for family and business for Her Majesty.

The issue about leaving the royal family and the Sussex Royal website is business. Hence, the monarch deals with it separately.

But when it comes to their grandmother-grandson relationship, it remains "very strong." Though the Queen might have been "very sad" by Prince Harry's absence, she seemed very used to family dramas.

In fact, Hardman revealed Queen Elizabeth had been through a lot of family dramas and even national and international dramas that she could withstand. Following the principle, "this too shall pass," she knows things will eventually fall into their right places.

However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might be aware that not attending Prince Philip's memorial service would make them look "petulant and rude." Royal author and Majesty magazine editor-in-chief Ingrid Seward told The Mirror the couple "missed an opportunity" by missing out on the event.

The two might be aware of the repercussions of their decision. Seward said their wall silence was screaming loud. Despite being known as "verbose duke and duchess," they said nothing this time.

Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seemed quiet when the memorial service occurred. They did not say anything about Prince Philip's memorial service either on social media or through their spokesperson and did not even send flowers to Westminster Abbey to be displayed.
