Ukraine's foreign minister announced on Sunday that his country had won the war in Kyiv and was now ready for the next.

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine's foreign minister, praised Ukrainian soldiers for taking back Kyiv and its environs from Russian troops but warned that the Kremlin is planning another round of deadly attacks.

The foreign minister said that it is true to say that Ukraine did win the fight for Kyiv. He added that another battle is approaching, the battle for Donbas and that they are getting ready for it, collaborating with their partners to supply all required weapons and everything needed to win the battle.

Despite Russia's attacks on people in Ukraine, Kuleba said he was eager to meet with them to discuss a peace agreement.

"Sitting down with people who commit, explain, or find justifications for all of these atrocities and war crimes, who have inflicted such tremendous damage on Ukraine, is very tough," he remarked.

"However, I realize one thing: If sitting down with the Russians will help me avoid at least one mass slaughter such as the one in Bucha, or at least another assault on Kramatorsk, then I must take advantage of the opportunity," he said.

Kuleba, when asked about Russia's reorganization on the battlefield, acknowledged Moscow's early intentions had failed.

He said that Russia had devised a new strategy, but they had also made preparations and that history would only show whose strategy was the most successful.

Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, acknowledged that Ukraine basically won the battle of Kyiv.

Psaki asserted that Ukraine's armies were able to protect their city because of their courage but stressed that it is also because of the supplies, the military equipment, and everything expedited from the United States that's worth $1.7 billion.

However, retired Gen. David Petraeus, who led the U.S. mission in Afghanistan until 2010, cautioned that the Russian soldiers are preparing for a major breakthrough in eastern Ukraine and it will put up a fight.

In his evening address on Sunday, Zelensky said Russians had turned into "monsters."

In the recently freed community of Buzova from outside Kyiv, Ukrainian officials reported discovering a horrific graveyard including several civilian bodies.

Additionally, as satellite photographs of a Russian military convoy traveling toward the Donbas region surfaced, fears of an invasion of Ukraine's southeast grew.
