IU surprised everyone when she gave an unexpected answer to one of the questions during a recent Q&A online. Kakao Page posted a YouTube video where the 29-year-old revealed the superpowers she wanted to have.

IU was given options to choose the superpowers she would choose. However, when she finally gave her answers, netizens could not help but be surprised by her answers.

AllKpop noted the South Korean star chose "photographic memory" over "premonition," "teleportation" over "levitation" and "the ability to go five seconds into the past" over "the ability to see five seconds into the future."

Lastly, she was asked to choose between the "power to eat nothing and survive" and "the power not to gain weight no matter what she eats." The singer-songwriter chose the former and explained she would feel more comfortable if she could control her appetite because sometimes she did not know what to eat, which might result in a lot of food going to waste.

"So, I think it would be easier to have the power to not eat and survive," she said. With that said, fans could not help but share their reactions to her answer.

In the comment section of the YouTube post, one fan said she could not empathize with IU's choice. Another chimed in and revealed he would choose the second option not to gain weight no matter what he ate.

For starters, IU used to have an eating disorder. SCMP's 2021 article revealed that the actress opened up about her struggle on the talk show "Healing Camp, Aren't You Happy" in 2014.

She revealed she became bulimic after feeling anxious, doubting and hating herself and fearing that her popularity and success could be gone anytime. These things resulted in binge eating, trying to fill herself up when she felt empty inside.

For a time, she would usually eat and sleep between throwing up. To stop this, she sought professional help and advice from other people.

She started to take good care of her mental and physical health by keeping a diary. She said her problem was not completely resolved yet since she still relied on food when she felt stressed out.

However, after seeking treatment, she started to get better by following the new and healthier eating habit. In fact, she had imposed rules on herself, like eating after working out and enjoying good quality meals each day.
