Eiichiro Oda announced his month-long hiatus as the Wano arc would soon come to an end. The mangaka revealed he would take a rest to prepare to work for "One Piece" final saga.

Does this mean Luffy's story will soon end? By the looks of it, fans may soon bid their goodbyes to their favorite pirates as "One Piece" is about to enter its final act.

The news comes from a tweet announcing "breaking news." It said now that the Wano arc is about to conclude, the series would go on a month hiatus, starting on June 27 and ending on July 25, so that the manga creator could "prepare for the final saga."

The manga artist may also take advantage of the break to rest, considering he has continued to release new chapters every week as of late. So, does this mean the next arc will be the series' last?

SportsKeeda noted it would not be the case. It explained that the final sage Eiichiro Oda said meant an "overarching, all-encompassing section of the subsequent story arcs."

As an example, the current Wano arc is part of the Yonko saga, which includes three other arcs: the Zou arc, the Whole Cake Island arc and the Levely arc. So when this saga ends following the events in Wano, its story has lasted for seven years.

Elsewhere, aside from resting, Eiichiro Oda will also use his free time to travel to Africa to see the set for Netflix's live-action adaptation of "One Piece," per Comicbook. He was actually set to see and observe the film's location a while ago, but his trip had been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

So by the looks of it, this trip has been long overdue, especially now that the filming has been underway. He will hen finally start working the manga's final act when he returns.

The series has been in the making for more than 20 years since it debuted in July 1997. This just means the manga is about to celebrate its 25th anniversary this year, just in time for its final saga to begin.

Now, the question is, how long does this final act will continue? Knowing how Eiichiro Oda works, it may last for a couple of years more before "One Piece" officially comes to an end.

It may still take five years more of publication and that's only the minimum, meaning it may still run longer than that. Despite that, it can't be denied that this news makes "One Piece" fans' hearts break.
