The CEO of Raising Cane, Todd Graves, stated that he purchased 50,000 Mega Millions tickets and pledged to share the $810 million jackpot with all of his employees if one of the tickets wins the coveted jackpot.

Graves demonstrated the purchase with a video of many Mega Millions tickets being printed and the statement, "POV: You just purchased 50,000 Mega Millions tickets for your Raising Cane's staff."

"Purchasing 50,000 lottery tickets is more difficult than it seems. We hope to split the winning sum with our 50,000-person crew," Graves said on social media.

Raising Cane's stated in a news release issued to CBS News that, should one of the tickets win the jackpot, each employee of the fast-food restaurant will get thousands of dollars.

The CEO says they couldn't pass up the opportunity to win the Mega Millions jackpot and share it with each of their employee, "who are always together," Graves said in a statement.

Graves said in a statement. At $2 per ticket, the acquisition would have cost the CEO aorund $100,000.

He added none of what they do at the company would be possible without his staff. That is why they are always searching for ways to offer them a little extra enjoyment. He said if we're lucky, "a surprise may come on Wednesday morning."

Mega Millions said in a statement that the jackpot reached an astounding $810 million on Monday, making it the third highest payout in the lottery's history.

Tuesday at 11 p.m. Eastern Time will be the next drawing. According to Mega Millions, jackpot winners have the option of receiving their prize in one lump sum payment of around $470 million or in 30 yearly payments.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot, in which all five numbers drawn must match those on the ticket and a sixth "mega ball" number must also match the mega ball number on the ticket, are 1 in 302,575,350.

There are additional prizes for matching fewer numbers. It was unclear what Graves would do with his earnings if he were to win a series of smaller awards.

Mega Millions added that there have already been three enormous jackpot wins this year: a $426 million prize in California in January, a $128 million ticket in New York in March, and a $110 million prize in Minnesota in April.

In 2018, South Carolina won the record-setting Mega Millions jackpot of an astounding $1.5 billion.
