Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy are back as Sanderson Sisters in "Hocus Pocus 2". Thirty years after the first movie's release, a second outing is about to come, but will there be "Hocus Pocus 3" after that?

It looks like the stars themselves have mixed reactions to "Hocus Pocus 3." Does this mean "Hocus Pocus 2" will be the last time fans see the Sanderson Sisters?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Najimy, who plays the role of Mary Sanderson, revealed she had doubts about the third movie. She said she felt they were already done with the film, though she remained optimistic, adding, "never say never."

Despite that, she still felt grateful that they had the chance to do the movie again for the second time. She then explained that she had no idea if there would be a third outing coming, though she knew the film had a solid fan base.

Whatever the case is, she's happy to bring "Hocus Pocus 2" to fans. Alternatively, Parker, who portrays Sarah, seemed to know how "Hocus Pocus 3" would work.

She said Najimy suggested that the third movie be animated, which she found "smart and cool." Aside from being fun, it could also be funny, interesting, and innovative.

Elsewhere, sequel director Anne Fletcher told SFX magazine they kept it wide open for the movie to continue. On the other hand, producer Lynn Harris said there would always be a potential "Hocus Pocus 3."

As the franchise is about magic and witches, these are timeless, calling them a multiverse of witches. Whether there will be a third movie or not, fans are surely excited to see "Hocus Pocus 2," thus it may depend on its performance if there will be another film installment.

Meanwhile, talking about "Hocus Pocus 2," Midler, famously known as Winifred, admitted she had longed to reprise her role in a sequel movie. Hence, she was glad to do the film even though it took 30 years to make.

On the contrary, Parker revealed she didn't dream of doing a second movie, and only Midler was the one who had conversations about it. Though she was open to playing as Sarah again, she couldn't promise that she would get involved.

However, when she heard "Hocus Pocus 2" would indeed be in the works, she quickly said yes. The Sanderson Sisters will be back on the big screen, casting their spells and brewing their cauldron, on Friday, September 30.
