Song Joong Ki proved his star power when he won the Grand Prize or the Daesang award at the recent 2022 APAN Star Awards. Song Hye Kyo's ex-husband graced the event at Ilsan KINTEX (Korea International Exhibition Center) on Thursday, September 29, along with several A-list stars.
Aside from Song Joong Ki, a lot of fan-favorite stars attended the event, wearing their most luxurious suits and gowns. The event honored this year's best in dramas, including the TV and streaming services series.
The "Good Job" couple, Jung Il Woo and Girls' Generation's Yuri, hosted the event and named the 37-year-old actor this year's Daesang, thanks to the success of the tvN hit series "Vincenzo."
MBC's hit historical drama "The Red Sleeve" also nabbed three awards, including Best Production, 2PM's Junho as the Excellent Actor in a Mini Series, and Jung Jin Yin and Song Yeon Hwa as Best Director.
Meanwhile, after the success of "Vincenzo," Song Joong Ki will be working on a new series called "Reborn Rich" with Shin Hyun Been and Lee Sung Min. Based on the hit web novel with the same title, the series will have a fantasy drama set in the stormy 1980s about the chaebol family's secretary Yoon Hyun Woo, played by the "Descendants of the Sun" star himself.
In an unexpected twist of fate, he will be reborn as the family's youngest son, Jin Do Joon, played by Song Joong Ki.
Yoon Hyun Woo dies after being framed for fraud by the Sunyang Group Family, to which he remains loyal. From there, he will be reborn as Jin Do Joon and work hard to take over the company and seek revenge.
Jin Yang Chul will play the role of Lee Sung Min, the head of Sunyang Group. He grew up in a poor family and climbed the ladder of success.
He now leads the financial world, making him relentlessly competitive. However, he has become endlessly greedy for money.
Shin Hyun Been will join the new series as the anti-corruption investigation prosecutor Seo Min Young, who comes from a well-respected legal family. He gets the nickname "Sunyang Group's grim reaper," and he will bravely break the legal boundaries to give everyone justice.
