"The Crown" Season 5 premieres today, November 9, and many are waiting to see the controversial events it's about to cover. One of those events is Princess Diana's iconic revenge dress and body, with one royal expert saying it reveals the evolution of her confidence and feelings.

Elizabeth Debicki plays the role of the 1990s Princess Diana and is about to wear the Princess of Wales' infamous revenge dress. But as the black, off-shoulder outfit is iconic itself, Kinsey Schofield said anyone wearing it would look like a cosplay.

The late princess donned the black Christina Stambolian frock after the then-Prince Charles admitted his infidelity onscreen. So, could Debicki give justice to the outfit by wearing an imitation of it?

"I think that their dress is beautiful, but it really doesn't compare to the original, honestly," Schofield told Page Six. She's sure many will remember the People's Princess in that dress.

She added that there's something so iconic about the sexy mini that it feels like cosplay to see anyone in it. Despite that, she still saw the importance of recreating that scene and telling its story, as it would show how hurt Princess Diana was and how she reacted to the situation, which she called brilliant.

Schofield added that based on what she had already seen, "The Crown" Season 5 seemed to show the evolution of Princes William and Harry's mom's confidence and feelings through her wardrobe. She used to dress as an "Easter mom" until she transformed and opted for sexier and bolder outfits, showing the pop culture's influence on her.

Aside from her revenge dress, Princess Diana also displayed her revenge body, which would be seen in the series' latest season. That said, fans may also be waiting for Debicki to wear the "giant red puffer coat" that the royal family member donned while jogging on an Austrian ski vacation.

Meanwhile, "The Crown" Season 5 is surrounded by controversy due to its depiction of the royal family. This seems to affect other royal-themed shows of the streaming giant, resulting in deciding to delay its documentary about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Though it wasn't officially announced yet, Deadline revealed it would be pushed back to 2023, not to make matters worse. Allegedly, everyone was rattled at Netflix due to the backlash.

Even celebrities and famous people react to the show's new season. So, Jonathan Pryce, who plays the role of older Prince Philip, told Entertainment Weekly he found it disappointing that a lot of people were already critical of the show without even seeing it.

Despite the claims that "The Crown" Season 5 was "hurtful, unjust, and dangerous," he insisted that he didn't see anything of it in the production.
