The real cause of Leslie Jordan's passing is now out, and he died of "sudden cardiac dysfunction" on one fateful day on October 24, 2022. He was 67.

Fans and celebrities alike mourned the death of the great comedian. His demise even came as a surprise as no one knew his medical condition.

The report obtained by Page Six from the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner revealed that the other factor of the actor's death was "arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease," also known as atherosclerosis.

Johns Hopkins Medicine listed atherosclerosis as the thickening or hardening of the arteries due to the plaque's buildup.

For starters, the "Will & Grace" actor crashed his vehicle in Hollywood on October 24 after suffering from what many believed was a medical emergency while driving. There were reports that he was already having shortness of breath days before his death.

Sources close to Jordan told TMZ he was complaining of feeling unwell. At the time, he had already set a schedule with a cardiologist for a checkup.

He also suffered from COVID-19 once. Aside from that, there was no known medical condition of him.

Jordan's rep announced the sad news in a statement to E! News. The spokesperson revealed the world had become a "much darker place" without the "love and light" of the "Call Me Kat" star.

Aside from having a "mega-talent" and being a person who was a joy to work with, Jordan gave an "emotional sanctuary to the nation at one of its most difficult times."

Though he lacked in height, he was a big man in generosity and greatness as a son, brother, artist, comedian, partner, and human being. But if there was one consolation amid this sadness, it might be good to know that he was gone at the height of his professional and personal life.

Jordan became a light to everyone amid the heights of COVID-19 with his fun social media posts, renewing his fame and introducing him to a younger audience at the time. He also made people laugh with clips of himself talking to the public in his signature Southern accent.

Meanwhile, several of Jordan's co-stars paid tribute to the late star. First off was Megan Mullally, who revealed she had just spent time with him a month prior at a book festival in Washington, D.C. Little did she know it was the last time she would see him, feeling so much affection toward him that day.
