Selena Gomez is defending Hailey Bieber against online hate and death threats, urging kindness and putting an end to their rumored feud.

In an Instagram Story on March 24, Gomez shared a message after learning about the intense criticism and threats Hailey has been receiving. "This isn't what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying," Selena wrote. "I've always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop."

The defense comes after multiple instances where fans speculated about a feud between the two, including a resurfaced video of Hailey pretending to gag at the mention of Taylor Swift, which Selena debunked.

Hailey, who is married to Selena's ex Justin Bieber, has faced a barrage of negative comments online, prompting Selena to speak up in her defense. The two had previously put feud rumors to rest in late 2022 when they posed together for a photo at the Academy Museum Gala.

In September, Hailey addressed the criticism she receives about her and Justin's relationship timeline on Call Her Daddy, stating, "'A lot of the hate and the perpetuation comes from like, 'Oh, you stole [Justin].' And I guess maybe that just comes from the fact that they wished he had ended up with somebody else. And that's fine. You can wish that all you want but that's just not the case."

Selena has always been an advocate for kindness and has made similar requests to her fans in the past, like after her breakup song "Lose You to Love Me" was released in 2019. "I do not stand for women tearing women down. And I will never, ever be by that. So please be kind to everyone," she said at the time.

In October 2022, Selena and Hailey put an end to any remaining rumors of a feud when they were photographed together at the Academy Museum Gala. After learning that Hailey had been receiving death threats online, Selena penned a message on March 24 stating, "This isn't what I stand for."

Meanwhile, a source tells ET that Selena is focused on her health, dating, and staying attentive to her fans. "Selena has been going to therapy, leaning on her friends and family, and keeping her circle close," the source said.
