Despite their well-known adherence to etiquette and proper manners, it seems that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have missed the deadline to RSVP for King Charles III's coronation in May. Sources close to the royal family revealed that the couple failed to respond to the official invitation by the April 3 deadline.

According to The Mirror, Palace insiders dismissed rumors that the Sussexes were demanding inclusion on the balcony for the event. Marie Claire initially reported that Harry and Meghan's demands for attending the coronation included a balcony appearance, which they later found out would not be possible, as well as the participation of their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in the festivities.

The balcony will be reserved exclusively for working members of the royal family, sources confirmed. The Mirror also noted that the couple requested a celebration for Archie's birthday on May 6.

These reports seem to validate the royal family's concerns that the presence of Meghan and Harry at the coronation could potentially overshadow the grandeur that King Charles desires for the occasion.

Palace staff are reportedly still uncertain about the Sussexes' attendance, although OK magazine reports that staffers believe the couple will most likely attend and are engaged in "lengthy discussions with the palace." A source added, "There is a time crunch on this, of course. It's such a historical event, and it's hoped that Harry and Meghan will be there."

The Daily Mail managed to obtain a comment from another source, who said, "all families are difficult, but this is no normal family, of course. Harry has a lot of questions about how the event will work."
