Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has received a "VIP" invitation to attend King Charles III's coronation concert, even though she was excluded from the guest list for the main ceremony. The concert, featuring performances by Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, will take place on May 7 on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle, with Ferguson seated in a special section.

On May 6, the official ceremony at Westminster Abbey will mark the transition of the crown from the late Queen Elizabeth to King Charles III. However, Ferguson, also known as Fergie, will not be in attendance. In a recent appearance on the TV show Loose Women while promoting her book A Most Intriguing Lady, she expressed her understanding of the situation.

"I am divorced from [Prince Andrew] so I don't expect... you can't have it both ways, you can't be divorced and then say, 'I want this...' [You're in] or you're out," she said.

Ferguson and Prince Andrew, who ended their marriage in 1996, share two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, both of whom will attend the ceremony. Despite not being invited to the main event, the 63-year-old shared her plans for May 6 during the interview.

"I personally will be having a little tea room and coronation chicken sandwich and putting out the bunting, that's what I'm going to be doing. Because that would make me very happy," she stated. She also mentioned that she might visit a nearby elderly home to watch the ceremony on television.

"And there's a little old people's home nearby and I've got a little van... it's a three-wheeler," she explained. "Maybe I should take the corgis down there, with the bunting and sandwiches."

"I also love to watch it on the telly because you hear a lot on the telly," she continued. "I think it's really great to be supportive big time and then when all the family come home, I know all the ins and outs from commentators on television!"

Reports have also indicated that Ferguson has been invited to a private after-party, where she will have the chance to interact with various family members following the coronation.
