Jennie, a member of Blackpink and star of "The Idol," has made music history as the first Korean solo artist to surpass 500 million streams on Spotify with her hit single "Solo," reports Allkpop.

Released on November 12, 2018, "Solo" is the artist's debut solo track, and the achievement also makes it the first song by a female Korean idol to reach this significant milestone, as per the Twitter account Korean Sales. Furthermore, "Solo" is the 18th K-pop song to cross this threshold.

Jennie's "Solo" doesn't stop at this achievement. Upon its release in 2018, it also marked the highest debut week for a South Korean solo artist since 2018, as reported by Circle Chart. Garnering more than 70.8 million index points in its opening week, the song secured the No. 1 spot.

The single maintained its popularity by remaining on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales list for 26 consecutive weeks, a feat that the Grammys labeled as "a phenomenon upon its release."

Moreover, the music video for "Solo" made a significant splash online, gathering 16 million views on YouTube within its first 24 hours, as the South China Morning Post noted.

On March 21, the music video for "Solo" reached another landmark, accumulating 900 million views on YouTube. According to Soompi, this makes "Solo" the quickest K-pop female solo music video to reach this milestone. At the time of reporting, the music video had already clocked over 935 million views.

In other recent news, Jennie has just released her new track, "One of the Girls," featuring her "The Idol" co-star Lily-Rose Depp, as part of the series' official soundtrack. This was launched along with The Weeknd's "Jealous Guy" and Depp's "Fill the Void," before the series' fourth episode airing on Sunday.

While the new tracks from "The Idol" are available on Spotify, they have not yet been added to the series' official playlist on the music streaming platform.

Fans will be able to see more of Jennie and her group, Blackpink, when they headline the BST Hyde Park festival in London on July 2 and recommence their "Born Pink World Tour" on July 15.

On June 15, a representative of YG Entertainment announced that the members of Blackpink would be taking a two-week break following their successful "Born Pink World Tour" performance in Sydney for some well-deserved rest and recuperation.
