Something seems amiss with K-pop group EXO's preparations for their 7th album.

According to an insider, SM Entertainment, the group's agency, cancelled the recording of Dingo's 'Killing Voice' featuring EXO, a day before the scheduled date on the 28th. 'Killing Voice' is a popular web show that features artists performing live highlights of their hit songs, and it has been a staple in the comeback schedules of many artists.

SM Entertainment explained the cancellation by saying, "We thought there were more things for the members to sort out before the comeback, so we changed the 'Killing Voice' schedule the day before the recording. We've contacted Dingo to arrange a recording on another day."

However, another insider claimed that the schedule change was inevitable because one of EXO's members, referred to as Member A, decided not to participate in the scheduled recording.

Member A is not part of ChenBaekXi (Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin), who previously had disagreements with their agency over their exclusive contracts but have since gone through a negotiation process.

An insider told SBS Entertainment News, "It's very unusual for a shooting schedule to be postponed suddenly with the comeback just around the corner. I believe it's not unrelated to the recent controversy over EXO's exclusive contract."

Indeed, ChenBaekXi had a conflict with their agency, SM Entertainment, over their exclusive contracts but underwent some negotiation and amendment processes on the 3rd. However, it's been hinted that the contract negotiation issue with the remaining members has not yet been resolved.

EXO is set to release their 7th full album, 'EXIST', on various music sites on the 10th of next month. Ahead of this, the group plans to pre-release the music and music video for their new song 'Hear Me Out' at 6 pm on the 30th.
