The legal representative of Samantha Markle, Peter Ticktin, has mounted a striking attack on Meghan Markle's character, labeling her potentially a "sociopath," amidst the ongoing defamation lawsuit filed against the Duchess of Sussex. Ticktin is a senior partner at The Ticktin Law Group.

Drawing from statements made by royal author Valentine Low in his book "Courtiers," Ticktin reiterated the labeling of the Duchess as a "narcissistic sociopath" by royal aides. He expressed to Newsweek, "I'm not certain as to her exact diagnoses...but I believe she's one of these, most probably a sociopath."

The Mayo Clinic characterizes "antisocial personality disorder, sometimes called sociopathy," as a mental health condition, the symptoms of which include a consistent disregard for moral judgment, a lack of respect for others' rights and feelings, and tendencies to behave violently or impulsively.

Ticktin reflected on the Duchess's journey in the public eye, noting that initial public affection for Meghan turned sour as perceptions changed. "We learned that Meghan was not exactly what we thought she was. To many, the bloom came off the rose with a thud," he said.

He made pointed references to familial discord involving Meghan, highlighting the rift between Prince Harry and the royal family, as well as conflicts with her own father and sister. He argued that Meghan's life, which could have been fulfilling, instead resulted in harmful impacts on her family.

Further casting aspersions on Meghan's character, Ticktin suggested that her courtship with Prince Harry was a "calculated psyop to land a prince," rather than the love-at-first-sight narrative portrayed in their Netflix series "Harry & Meghan."

The lawyer also called into question Meghan's recollection of her childhood, specifically her story about persuading Procter & Gamble to amend a gender-biased line in their advert. "This a person who participated in a class project...and to this day professes that she had a significant impact," Ticktin commented.

The ongoing lawsuit centers around Samantha's claims that Meghan defamed her during her 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and in the "Harry & Meghan" series, by suggesting she grew up as an only child. Samantha insists she played a role in Meghan's upbringing and contradicts the Duchess's account of her childhood living arrangements.

In response, Meghan's legal team has requested the case "be dismissed with prejudice," arguing this represents Samantha's third attempt to exploit a personal dispute for legal traction, based solely on "non-actionable opinions and third-party statements."
