In the world of royal watchers, the 2021 interview of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle by Oprah Winfrey continues to be a subject of intense scrutiny. A recent analysis by body language expert Jesus Enrique Rosas, who runs a YouTube channel called "The Body Language Guy," suggests that Meghan Markle may have shown signs of regret during the discussion of her relationship with Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Rosas, who has analyzed numerous media appearances by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, focused on Meghan's facial expressions and gestures during the Oprah interview. He pointed out that the Duchess's behavior could reveal more than her words, suggesting that her emotional reactions were particularly telling.

One of the most controversial topics discussed during the interview was the rumored incident of Meghan making Kate cry at her wedding. When asked about this, Meghan responded, "The narrative with Kate, which didn't happen, was really, really difficult and something that... I think that's when everything changed, really."

Rosas noted that while Meghan was recalling this situation, she moved her eyes to the right, which he interprets as her "creative side." Simultaneously, she pressed her lips, a gesture he believes indicates upset. However, he suggested that her eyes moving to the right could signal that she was not in "memory mode" but rather in "creative mode."

When directly asked, "Did you make Kate cry?" Meghan simply responded, "No." Rosas claimed that two gestures at this point suggested that Meghan was not being truthful. He noted a different kind of lip press and a slight upward turn of her lips, which he interpreted as a lack of confidence in her statement. He also observed what he described as "contempt and joy" on the left side of her face, emotions he believes are inconsistent with her words.

Meghan then stated that in terms of who made whom cry, "the reverse happened." Rosas pointed out that Meghan showed her tongue and again averted her eyes to the right after making this statement. He interpreted the tongue show as a sign of regret for having said something and suggested that the combination of these signals indicated that part of her story was fabricated.

However, Rosas also noted moments of authenticity in Meghan's expressions. He pointed out that when Meghan spoke about her feelings leading up to her wedding to Prince Harry, her hand gestures were in sync with her words, and her facial expressions were consistent with her narrative. He concluded that she appeared to be truthful in these moments.

This analysis provides a new perspective on the infamous Oprah interview, suggesting that body language could offer additional insights into the complex dynamics within the royal family. However, it's important to remember that body language interpretation is not an exact science, and these interpretations represent one expert's perspective.
