According to YG Entertainment, the agency of the group, on July 31st, BLACKPINK's "DDU-DU DDU-DU" music video surpassed 2.1 billion views on YouTube around 4:27 PM the previous day. This is a grand record achieved roughly 5 years and 1 month since its release on June 15, 2018.
Thanks to the enduring love from global music fans, "DDU-DU DDU-DU" has consistently been breaking its own records every moment, achieving the highest views for a K-pop group music video on YouTube. With the numbers changing every 3-6 months, anticipation is high for future records.
"DDU-DU DDU-DU", the title track of BLACKPINK's debut mini-album "SQUARE UP", became popular due to its addictive chorus and the choreography that mimics shooting a gun with both hands. It was the most-watched K-pop music video worldwide in 2018.
The song also achieved impressive results on various global charts.
