BTS's Jungkook has illuminated the global music scene by securing the top spot on the Billboard chart for nine consecutive weeks with his solo single "Seven", marking a first for an Asian artist.

According to the latest chart released by Billboard on September 23, Jungkook's 'Seven' has clinched the number one position on the "Global (Excluding U.S.)" chart.

"Seven" surpassed BTS's 'Dynamite' to set a historic record as the first song by an Asian artist (including groups and solo artists) to remain at number one for nine consecutive weeks on the 'Global (Excluding U.S.)' chart. Furthermore, it's the first song globally in 2023 to debut and maintain the top spot for nine straight weeks.

Following closely on the "Global (Excluding U.S.)" chart were global hits like Doja Cat's "Paint The Town Red" in second place, BTS V's "Slow Dancing" in third, Myke Towers' "LALA" in fourth, Olivia Rodrigo's "Vampire" in fifth, and Taylor Swift's "Cruel Summer" in sixth.

"Seven" also achieved a commendable second place on the significant 'Global 200' chart, which gauges worldwide popularity.

Additionally, "Seven" showcased its formidable streaming power by debuting at number one on Billboard's main singles chart "Hot 100" and maintaining its position in the top 44 for nine consecutive weeks. The song also entered the Pop Airplay at 18th (for nine consecutive weeks), Adult Pop Airplay at 20th (for nine consecutive weeks), Dance/Mix Show Airplay at 22nd (for six consecutive weeks), and Radio Songs at 43rd (for five consecutive weeks).

Previously, "Seven" set a debut record on the Billboard 'Global 200' chart with the highest weekly streams for a solo artist at 217.1 million and the highest weekly sales worldwide for a group or solo artist at 269,000 units.

Moreover, "Seven" achieved historic streaming milestones by being the first male artist ever to surpass 100 million streams for five consecutive weeks on the 'Global 200' chart and the first song to surpass 100 million streams for four consecutive weeks since the inception of the "Global (Excluding U.S.)" chart.

Recently, "Seven" was crowned the "Global Song of the Summer for 2023" by Billboard, further solidifying its worldwide commercial success.

Additionally, "Seven" maintained its presence on the UK's Official Singles "Top 100" chart for nine consecutive weeks and set records on the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify, by being the first and longest-running Asian artist to top both the "Daily Top Song Global" and "Weekly Top Song Global" charts, holding the number one spot for 57 days.

On a related note, on September 13 (Korean time), Jungkook won the 'Song of Summer' award for "Seven" at the "2023 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA)", marking the first time a Korean solo artist has received this honor.
