Prominent British presenter and known critic of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Dan Wootton, has been suspended from his show on GB News. This decision comes in the wake of a controversial interview with political activist Laurence Fox, during which Fox made derogatory comments about journalist Ava Evans of "PoliticsJOE."

During the contentious segment on "Dan Wootton Tonight," Fox posed the question, "Show me a single, self-respecting man that would like to climb into bed with that woman ever, who wasn't an incel." Wootton's response, a mere chuckle followed by a light-hearted "Oh Laurence," has drawn significant criticism. Fox continued his tirade, labeling Evans as "pathetic and embarrassing." Wootton, rather than intervening, later commented that Evans is a "very beautiful woman."

The incident sparked immediate backlash on social media platforms. Evans herself expressed her distress, stating she felt "physically sick" and shared the video clip of the interview.

In the aftermath, Wootton took to Twitter to apologize to Evans, stating, "Dear @AvaSantina. I think you're brilliant. I apologise for what was said during the course of my show and should have done this immediately on air. This is not what our channel is about." He further elaborated on his reaction, admitting he was caught off guard and should have immediately challenged the "offensive and misogynistic remarks." Wootton described the incident as a "very unfortunate lapse in judgement" and expressed his regret for letting down his team and the GB News audience.

However, his apologies did not prevent GB News from taking action. The network has suspended Wootton and is currently conducting a full investigation into the matter. A representative from GB News confirmed the suspension, stating, "GB News has suspended Dan Wootton following comments made on his program by Laurence Fox last night. This follows our decision earlier today to formally suspend Mr. Fox."

Wootton's criticism of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, particularly Meghan Markle, has been a recurring theme on his show. He has frequently invited royal commentators to share their views, which often lean towards criticism of the royal couple. Prince Harry, in his memoir "Spare," even referred to Wootton as a "sad little man."
