G-Dragon, former member of the group Big Bang, has caught attention by posting and subsequently removing photos containing Buddhist teachings amidst drug allegations.
On October 31, G-Dragon uploaded a picture with Buddhist teachings on his SNS, but later deleted it. However, screenshots of this post quickly spread through online communities.
The photo featured the Eightfold Path of Buddhism, explaining the meanings of Right View, Right Intention, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, and Right Concentration.
Another picture titled "Pursuing Enlightenment" read: "Our ultimate goal is enlightenment. We must reach it. Seek happiness that transcends life and death. If we're trapped in the present moment, clinging to minor joys and not even considering the profound happiness of our roots, that's a mistake. We desperately need a shift in consciousness, directing our energy back to our core."
Given the current drug allegations against G-Dragon, this post garnered significant attention. Some netizens speculated that the post reflects his current emotional state.
Previously, on October 25, the police filed a case against G-Dragon without detention for violating drug-related laws. The following day, through his attorney, G-Dragon denied all charges and stated, "I will actively cooperate with the investigation agency and handle it with utmost sincerity."
Subsequently, G-Dragon released three statements through his lawyer, repeatedly denying the allegations, expressed his intent to voluntarily appear before the police, and announced his appearance on the 6th.
On October 30, through his second statement, G-Dragon emphasized, "I have strongly expressed my intention to voluntarily appear and actively cooperate in the investigation. I've conveyed to the police that I'll willingly submit any necessary materials and participate proactively in hair and urine tests to expedite the investigation and clear my name quickly."
Furthermore, he reiterated his stance on taking a strong response against various speculations and rumors that have arisen since the drug allegations. G-Dragon's lawyer highlighted, "There have been baseless speculations, like hiring a former Constitutional Court judge as a lawyer and paying huge fees. These are absolutely not true. We'll respond aggressively against the dissemination of false information and defamation."
