New York's Times Square buzzed with a guerrilla performance by 'global pop star' Jungkook.
BTS's Jungkook held a guerrilla performance at TSX Entertainment (hereafter 'TSX') located in Times Square, Manhattan, New York, on November 10 (Korean time). Jungkook showcased the title track 'Standing Next to You' from his solo album 'GOLDEN', his solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)', and '3D (feat. Jack Harlow)', and also debuted stages for the tracks 'Yes or No', and 'Please Don't Change (feat. DJ Snake)' from his new record, heating up the atmosphere on site.
TSX is an outdoor permanent performance venue located on Broadway in the heart of Manhattan's Times Square, which opened last July and features a stage that emerges when the giant LED screen is parted. Jungkook became the second artist to perform on this stage after the American rapper and songwriter Post Malone performed at the TSX opening event in July, proving his worldwide popularity. Before the performance began, Times Square was packed with people, and the audience sang along to Jungkook's songs, eagerly awaiting the 'global pop star's' arrival. When Jungkook finally appeared on stage, there was an explosion of cheers. Performing 'Standing Next to You', Jungkook, along with dancers, presented a 'complete performance', dazzlingly unfolding the first stage.
After greeting the crowd with, "It's an honor to perform in New York's Times Square," Jungkook passionately sang 'Yes or No', '3D', and 'Please Don't Change'. When he sang 'Yes or No', a chorus erupted even though it was a track from the album, hinting at the popularity of 'GOLDEN'. Amidst cheers filling Broadway, Jungkook concluded the performance with his mega-hit song 'Seven'. He dominated the stage with flawless vocals and overwhelming performance, showcasing the true characteristics of a 'global pop star'.
Meanwhile, Jungkook has been actively promoting since releasing his first solo album 'GOLDEN', inspired by his 'golden moments', on the 3rd. Following his appearance on America's NBC morning show 'TODAY' on the 8th, he colored New York's morning and night with 'golden hues' with his TSX guerrilla performance. The album's title track 'Standing Next to You' has been number one on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart for three consecutive days.
