BTS V (Kim Taehyung) has made new history in K-pop as his solo album 'Layover' and its title track 'Slow Dancing' continuously chart on the UK Official Charts, marking him as the longest-charting K-pop solo artist in the UK.
'Slow Dancing' ranked 68th on the UK Official Singles Download Chart and 76th on the UK Official Singles Sales Chart in the second week of November, making it nine consecutive weeks on the chart since its debut at number one.
V is the first K-pop solo artist to chart simultaneously on both the UK Official Albums Chart and Singles Chart, showcasing his widespread popularity in the UK. 'Layover' has been charting for eight consecutive weeks on the UK Official Albums Download Chart, setting a record for the longest charting period by a K-pop solo artist.
In Portugal, 'Layover' continues to impress, currently positioned at number 16 on the Albums Top 30 chart, charting for eight weeks. On this chart, 'Layover' has reached a peak position of number 2 and remains the only K-pop album charting as of November 12.
Additionally, 'Layover' re-entered the Lithuanian Top Albums chart, charting for eight weeks. In Belgium, it has charted for eight consecutive weeks on the Ultratop Flanders chart and six weeks on the Ultratop Wallonia chart.
V's popularity surge is also evident in Morocco, where he has been charting on the Spotify Top Daily Artists chart for 72 weeks since December 30, 2021, becoming the only Asian solo artist to chart for over 500 days.
The music video for 'Love Me Again', released three months ago, climbed to the 8th position on Morocco's Apple Music Top Videos All Genres chart.
V also set a record on the Billboard Main Album Chart 'Billboard 200', becoming the first K-pop solo artist to chart for seven consecutive weeks. As of November 12, 'Layover' has surpassed 693.04 million streams on Spotify and is close to reaching 700 million streams.
