BTS Jungkook shines as a global superstar with impressive records in the recent Billboard Year-End Charts for 2023. His first solo single 'Seven' clinched the 82nd spot on the 'Hot 100' chart.
This is the first time since Psy's 'Gangnam Style' in 2012 that a K-pop solo artist has made it onto this chart.
'Seven' also achieved significant positions on the 'Global (excl. US)' and 'Global 200' charts, ranking 10th and 17th, respectively, and it landed 8th on the 'Digital Song Sales' chart.
Jungkook's second solo single '3D' grabbed the 31st spot on the 'Digital Song Sales' chart. Furthermore, his collaborations 'Left and Right' with American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth and the official soundtrack 'Dreamers' for the '2022 FIFA World Cup QatarTM' ranked 186th and 187th on the 'Global (excl. US)' chart, respectively.
In addition, Jungkook marked his presence by ranking 90th on the 'Hot 100 Artists', 10th on the 'Digital Song Sales Artists', 24th on the 'Global (excl. US) Artists', and 36th on the 'Global 200 Artists'.
He made history as the first and only Asian solo artist to appear on both 'Hot 100' and 'Hot 100 Artists' charts in the same year. His 'Left and Right' track continued its global dominance, featuring on the 'Global (excl. US)' chart for two consecutive years, contributing to the worldwide 'Jungkook syndrome'.
Billboard's Year-End Charts compile the most popular albums, songs, and artists in various categories throughout the year. The rankings for the 2023 Year-End Charts are based on chart performance from November 19, 2022, to October 21, 2023.
'Seven' debuted at number 1 on Billboard's main singles chart, 'Hot 100', and stayed on the chart for 15 weeks, while 'Left and Right' lasted for 17 weeks, and '3D' for 7 weeks, showcasing Jungkook's strong music streaming power. 'Seven' remained at number 1 on the 'Global (excl. US)' chart for nine consecutive weeks and on the 'Global 200' chart for seven consecutive weeks. 'Left and Right', 'Seven', '3D', and 'Dreamers' featured on the 'Global 200' chart for 28, 18, 7, and 9 weeks, and on the 'Global (excl. US)' chart for 43, 18, 7, and 14 weeks, respectively.
This year, Jungkook set another record as the first and only Asian solo artist to place a total of four songs ('Seven', '3D', 'Standing Next to You', 'TOO MUCH') simultaneously on the 'Hot 100' for two consecutive weeks. He also became the first solo artist globally to have three songs ('Seven', '3D', 'Standing Next to You') reach number 1 on both the 'Global 200' and 'Global (excl. US)' charts within the same year, writing history on Billboard as the 'best', 'first', and 'only'.
Meanwhile, Jungkook recently won the 'Top Global K-Pop Song' category at the '2023 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs)' for 'Seven' on October 20th (Korean time).
