BTS's Jungkook has set a new record on Spotify, becoming the K-Pop solo artist to achieve the fastest 100 million streams with his top four songs. Jungkook's solo album 'GOLDEN', released on November 3, saw its title track 'Standing Next to You' recently surpass 100 million streams (pre-filtering) on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.
'Standing Next to You' reached a total of 101,838,881 streams in just 16 days after its release, demonstrating immense global popularity and powerful streaming influence.
According to the 'World Music Awards' (WMA), often referred to as 'Europe's Billboard', Jungkook filled the top four spots for the fastest 100 million streaming achievements among K-Pop solo artists with his solo single 'Seven' (6 days), '3D' (15 days), 'Standing Next to You' (16 days), and the collaboration 'Left and Right' (24 days).
Previously, 'Seven' set a new Spotify record by reaching one billion streams (pre-filtering) in the shortest time, officially entering the Guinness World Records.
Jungkook's Spotify profile, with all credits combined, is on the verge of reaching a total of 3.5 billion streams (pre-filtering). He also made history as the first K-Pop solo artist to record over 40 million monthly listeners on Spotify, a key indicator showing an artist's current popularity by counting only one listen per person.
Jungkook has also set a major record by becoming the first and only Asian solo artist to enter four songs - 'Seven', '3D', 'Standing Next to You', and 'TOO MUCH' - consecutively for two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 main singles chart in the United States.
Furthermore, following 'Seven' and '3D', 'Standing Next to You' marked another milestone as Jungkook became the first global solo artist to place three songs in the number one position on both the 'Global 200' and 'Global (Excluding US)' charts in a single year, rewriting Billboard history.
Recently, on November 20 (Korean time), Jungkook won the 'Top Global K-Pop Song' category at the '2023 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs)' for 'Seven'.
