BTS's Jimin has marked a significant achievement in the history of Korean pop music, attaining the highest success for a Korean soloist in the Billboard Year-End Charts. In the 2023 Billboard Year-End Chart, Jimin has made an impressive record by placing his name in 13 entries across 12 different categories, the most entries in a single year by a K-Pop solo artist in the chart's history.
The Billboard Year-End Chart ranks the most popular songs, albums, and artists in various categories over the year, based on chart performance from November 19, 2022, to October 21, 2023.
A notable highlight in this year's Billboard wrap-up is Jimin's first solo album 'FACE', which ranked 193rd in the Billboard 200 main album chart. This marks a monumental achievement as the first and only entry by a Korean solo artist in the history of this chart.
Additionally, Jimin's 'FACE' album achieved the highest rank for a Korean solo album in this year's 'World Album' Year-End Chart, maintaining a continuous chart presence for 34 weeks and reaching 5th place. It also secured positions in the 'Top Album Sales' at 25th and 'Top Current Album Sales' at 18th. With just six tracks, 'FACE' has become the most successful K-Pop solo EP in these categories.
The title track 'Like Crazy' from 'FACE' made history in the 'Digital Song Sales' chart as the first and only Korean song and Asian solo track to reach the top 5. Along with the pre-released track 'Set Me Free Pt2' ranking at 29th, Jimin showcased his strength by placing two songs from one album in the top 30.
Simultaneously, 'Like Crazy' continues its record as the longest-charting song by a K-pop soloist in both 'Global 200' and 'Global (Excluding US)', being present for 34 consecutive weeks. In these year-end charts, it ranked 61st and 46th respectively, achieving the highest performance for a Korean song by a Korean solo artist.
Jimin also achieved remarkable success in the artist categories, ranking 6th in the 'Digital Song Sales Artist' chart, the highest position ever for a Korean solo artist. He also placed 56th in 'Global 200 Artist' and 40th in 'Global (Excluding US) Artist'. As the only Korean solo artist in the 'World Album Artist' chart, he made it to 7th place, and 25th in 'Top Album Sales Artist', marking the most chart entries by a Korean solo artist in Billboard's artist categories at the year-end summary.
With his sincere Korean solo album captivating audiences worldwide and achieving first place on Billboard's 'Hot 100' and 'Artist 100', Jimin reasserts his status as a leading 21st-century pop icon with a record-breaking 13 entries as a Korean solo artist in the Billboard Year-End Charts.
