K-pop group ITZY (comprising members Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, Yuna) is set to release a new album and embark on their second world tour. JYP Entertainment unveiled an announcement video, a scheduler image, and the tracklist for ITZY's first comeback in 2024 through their official SNS channel at midnight on December 4.
According to the announcement, ITZY will release their new album 'BORN TO BE' on January 8, 2024, and kick off their second world tour starting in Seoul on February 24 and 25.
The announcement video, featuring an exhilarating sound, captivated viewers with small embers coming together to form a flame, eventually exploding and revealing the album name 'BORN TO BE'.
The grand promotion targeting the first half of next year and the intriguing tracklist catch the eye. Notably, this album will feature ITZY's first-ever member solo tracks, hinting at an unprecedented release. Starting from December 11, the group will reveal a collective concept photo and clip for the first track 'BORN TO BE', followed by individual teasers for members Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna from December 12 to 15. The music video will be unveiled on the 18th.
In the lead-up to the album release, member solo song music videos will be pre-released on December 20, 22, 25, and 27. Additionally, concept photos, a music video teaser, and the full music video for the track 'Mr. Vampire' will be showcased on December 29 and January 2. On January 3, the concept photo for the title track 'UNTOUCHABLE' will be released, followed by music video teasers on January 4 and 5. The countdown live on the comeback day, January 8 at 5 PM, will connect ITZY with their fans, and the full album along with the title track music video will be released at 6 PM the same day.
The new title track 'UNTOUCHABLE' boasts lyrics by Isran, who penned 'None of My Business' from ITZY's previous work 'KILL MY DOUBT' and TWICE Nayeon's solo debut song 'POP!', and Bang Hye-hyun, who wrote lyrics for aespa's 'Drama' and 'Spicy'. The track features credits from renowned creators including Maria Marcus, who has worked with Jungkook, Red Velvet, Tomorrow X Together, among others.
The album 'BORN TO BE' will consist of 10 tracks in total, including 'Mr. Vampire', 'Dynamite', 'Crown On My Head (Yeji)', 'Blossom (Lia)', 'Run Away (Ryujin)', 'Mine (Chaeryeong)', 'Yet, but (Yuna)', 'Escalator', with members participating in writing and composing their first solo songs.
Along with the comeback announcement, ITZY has also revealed plans for their second world tour, exciting fans worldwide. The tour will commence with a solo concert at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on February 24 and 25, 2024. Their first world tour 'CHECKMATE', which started in August 2022 in Seoul, sold out performances across eight cities in the U.S., Manila, Singapore, Jakarta, Chiba, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Bangkok. ITZY, renowned for their hit songs and captivating stage performances, is set to continue their legacy in their 2024 world tour.
Recently, ITZY has proven their worldwide popularity by appearing on Billboard's 2023 Year-End Charts (YEAR-END CHARTS) with 'CHESHIRE' and 'KILL MY DOUBT', and also received a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for their mega-hit 'WANNABE'. The anticipation for ITZY's activities in the new year is at an all-time high.
