BTS's Jungkook's 'GOLDEN' has set new records on the Billboard charts, illuminating its global popularity.

According to the latest chart released by the American music media Billboard (dated December 23), Jungkook's debut solo album 'GOLDEN' has secured the 41st spot on the 'Billboard 200' chart.

'GOLDEN' has continued its impressive streak by entering the 'Billboard 200', the main album chart, for six consecutive weeks. Jungkook has established a new record as the 'first' and 'longest' charting Asian solo artist, male or female, proving once again the power of a global pop star.

Additionally, on the December 23 chart, 'GOLDEN' comfortably landed in the upper echelons for six consecutive weeks, ranking 12th on 'Top Current Albums' and 14th on 'Top Album Sales'. Moreover, the album's title track 'Standing Next to You' also climbed the Billboard's main single 'Hot 100' to 99th, along with 2nd on 'Digital Song Sales', 18th on 'Global 200' and 10th on 'Global (Excluding the U.S.)' for six consecutive weeks. Other tracks from the album, 'Please Don't Change' and 'Closer to You', have also consistently charted for six weeks at 43rd and 45th respectively on the 'Hot Dance/Electronic Songs' chart.

Jungkook's solo single 'Seven' held strong on 'Global 200' at 19th and 'Global (Excluding the U.S.)' at 8th for 22 weeks, and '3D' at 42nd and 24th for 11 weeks, dominating the Billboard charts with a powerful and hot streak. Jungkook also ranked 30th on the Billboard 'Artist 100' chart, maintaining a presence for 18 weeks.

Previously, 'GOLDEN' had achieved the milestone of being the 'first' and 'only' Asian solo artist album to enter the top 20 of the 'Billboard 200' for four consecutive weeks. It debuted at 2nd on 'Billboard 200', 1st on 'Top Album Sales', and 1st on 'Top Current Albums', signaling a hit right from its first week.

'GOLDEN' also debuted at 3rd place on the UK's Official Album Top 100 chart, marking the highest position ever for a K-pop solo artist album.

The album was recognized in the U.S. by being listed in the New York Times' 'Best Albums of 2023' and UPROXX's 'The Best Albums Of 2023'. 'GOLDEN' also recorded the first-ever sale of over 500,000 units in the U.S. for a K-pop solo artist album in 2023.

Moreover, on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, it became the fastest Asian artist studio album to reach 2 billion streams (pre-filtered) and the first and only K-pop solo artist album to surpass 2 billion streams, writing its own history. According to the official Twitter account 'KOREAN SALES', as of the 21st (KST), 'GOLDEN' surpassed 2.7 million sales on the Circle Album Chart.

Additionally, 'GOLDEN' made a direct hit to being a 'Double Million Seller' within just 5 hours of its release according to the Hanteo Chart, setting a new record for the highest initial sales (in the first week) by a K-pop solo artist. Within just two weeks of release, a total of 2,501,158 copies were sold.
