Members Saena, Sio, and Aran from the group FIFTY FIFTY are preparing for their second phase of activities by scouting for a new agency.
On the 29th, a message from Saena, Sio, and Aran was shared on FIFTY FIFTY's fan club account, stating, "Recently, we contacted the legal team representing former FIFTY FIFTY members Saena, Sio, and Aran to inquire how fans could support the ongoing legal proceedings. The members' attorney conveyed a message from the former members, permitted for public sharing, to offer consolation and hope to the fans."
Saena, Sio, and Aran expressed their sincere gratitude to fans for their ongoing support and encouragement through tough times. They clarified that they're no longer artists under Attract after mutually agreeing to terminate their exclusive contracts through litigation. Consequently, fans are unable to provide any special legal assistance to them.
They continued, "However, the three members, Jiho (Sio), Sehyun (Saena), and Euna (Aran), are recovering their health while continuing to practice and are actively seeking a new agency. They remain committed to continuing their music activities and aspire to become artists who can exert a positive influence. We will do our best to reappear before our fans as soon as possible and ask for your continued faith and support, even if progress feels slow."
In June, Saena, Sio, Aran, and Kina filed a provisional injunction application to suspend the effect of their exclusive contracts, alleging the agency Attract failed to provide settlement data and manage the physical and mental health of the members. Attract countered by alleging that the members had agreed to the transaction structure, and there was no deliberate omission of revenue. They raised suspicions of tampering by an external force, specifically the outsourcing company The Givers and its CEO, An Seong-il. In response, The Givers claimed the allegations were baseless.
Subsequently, the court rejected the members' provisional injunction application in August, siding with Attract, but the members immediately appealed. In October, the court also dismissed this appeal. During this process, member Kina withdrew her appeal and returned to Attract alone, and the agency re-welcomed her after showing sincere reflection.
On the 19th, Attract announced that it had filed a civil lawsuit against the three members for damages and penalties due to breach of the exclusive contract. They also sought damages for joint tort from The Givers, An Seong-il, and the parents of the three members for actively participating in the unfair termination of the exclusive contract. The damages and penalties calculated by Attract amount to several billion won.
