BTS's Jungkook has been nominated in four categories at the 2024 People's Choice Awards. The nominations, announced on November 11 (local time), include 'The Male Artist of the Year,' 'The Pop Artist of the Year,' 'The New Artist of the Year,' and 'The Collaboration Song of the Year.' This marks a record-setting moment for Jungkook, becoming the K-pop solo artist with the most nominations in the history of the People's Choice Awards. Previously, BTS as a group was nominated in four categories in 2018 and 2020.

The People's Choice Awards, a major U.S. pop culture award ceremony now in its 49th year, encompasses various fields such as movies, TV, and music, with winners determined by public vote. The winners will be announced on February 18 through NBC, E!, and the streaming service Peacock.

Last year, female artists like Taylor Swift, Doja Cat, and Miley Cyrus made their mark in the global music scene. Jungkook stands out as the only male nominee in the 'The Pop Artist of the Year' category, highlighting his unique position as a dominant male solo artist.

For 'The Collaboration Song of the Year,' Jungkook's July release, 'Seven (feat. Latto),' earned him a nomination. The song achieved remarkable success, charting at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number three on the UK Official Singles Chart, and reaching a billion streams on Spotify in record time, cementing its status as a global mega-hit. Jungkook previously won the 'The Collaboration Song of the Year' at the 2022 People's Choice Awards for 'Left and Right (Feat. Jung Kook of BTS),' a collaboration with Charlie Puth, making this year's awards particularly noteworthy as he could potentially win the category two years in a row.

Jungkook is also nominated in 'The New Artist of the Year' and 'The Male Artist of the Year' categories, facing competition from prominent artists like Morgan Wallen, who topped the Billboard Hot 100 sixteen times last year, and globally streamed artists Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, and Drake.

Jungkook, who officially launched his solo career last year with the single 'Seven,' has already made his mark in major award ceremonies. He won 'Song of Summer' at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards for 'Seven' and became the first Korean solo artist to win two categories at the 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards, taking home 'Best Song' and 'Best K-Pop.' He also won 'Top Global K-Pop Song' at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards.
