Mariah Carey's lifelong friendship with Lenny Kravitz has blossomed into something more, a new report claimed.

“There’s definitely chemistry between them. They’re both single and they’ve been hanging out a lot lately,” an unnamed source told Star Magazine.

Mariah, 55, and Lenny, 59, were pals long before they achieved fame. As the “Fly Away” singer recently revealed, he used to frequent the New York City sports bar where Mariah worked when they were both aspiring musicians comparing demo tapes.

It is reported that Mariah and Lenny have met several times since, including co-starring in 2009's "Precious" and, most recently, at the Recording Academy Honors in February, when they both received awards. The duo also just got nominations for the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.

According to the insider, they bonded over both being nominated. Lenny had long adored Mariah and formed a crush on the “Precious” set. The “Through the Rain” hitmaker was married to Nick Cannon at the time; he had divorced from Lisa Bonet in 1993 and thereafter dated French actress Vanessa Paradis.

“They’ve been super close over the years, and they have a lot in common so it’s not surprising that they could have taken their friendship to the next level. Everyone who knows them personally in the music industry is buzzing about it — and wants it to be true,” the informant stated.

Both Mariah Carey and Lenny Kravitz have yet to address the reports linking them romantically. So, avid followers of the two personalities should take all these unverified claims with a grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.

Meanwhile, Mariah just had a magnificent performance worthy of her title of Songbird Supreme. The “When You Believe” songstress astonished the audience at PrettyLittleThing CEO Umar Kamani's lavish wedding to 31-year-old model Nada Adelle on Friday, May 3, Metro UK reported.

The “Touch My Body” singer donned a sheer minidress and glittering diamond jewelry bracelets, rings, and earrings as she sang some of her most iconic songs at the billionaires' wedding at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France.

The 55-year-old musician flew to France specifically to perform ballads in honor of the couple's four-day celebration. Multiple videos online featured Mariah receiving applause from the audience as they danced along to the song “We Belong Together” during Kamani's wedding after party.

Aside from Mariah, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli also performed as the bride came down the aisle. According to Business Insider, Umar Kamani is part of the rich family that owns the fashion business Boohoo.
