Justin Timberlake, who was detained on Monday night for driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the Hamptons, has supposedly struggled with a covert drinking problem for years, a new report claimed.
"It's not a secret. Everyone knows. He has a real drinking problem, a lot of weed — but a major alcohol problem,” an unnamed source told Page Six after news of Justin’s arrest broke on Tuesday.
"He's been hiding and masking it for years," the unidentified insider shared, adding that "everyone around him have been enablers" and that Justin’s drinking finally "got to him."
"It's a real thing, and when you have a drinking problem, it's apparent, yet they've pushed this tour on him, and he's been a very dark place,” the informant went on.
An additional tipster reaffirmed that Justin has "been in a dark place" and started "drinking heavily" since the publication of the New York Times documentary “Framing Britney Spears” in 2021, which brought them back into the public eye and brought renewed attention to their relationship.
Reportedly, the Grammy Award winner began making adjustments to his team in order to assist him in managing the wrath he faced after scandalous facts from their decades-long romance revealed in Britney’s tell-all memoir "The Woman in Me" in 2023.
"He was very concerned about his career and acting. People were very worried about him," a spy stated.
However, a separate mole asserted that Justin "has never been better" and that he had quit drinking, reduced weight, and begun leading a healthier lifestyle prior to the launch of his ongoing "Forget Tomorrow World" Tour in April.
"He's in great shape. His tour is sold out. He's in a good space,” the snitch stated.
After leaving dinner with friends at a hotel in Sag Harbor, Long Island, on Monday night, Justin was hauled into prison and charged with driving while drunk. The most of his followers, if not all of them, are aware of this fact.
A police officer pulled the celebrity over for blowing through a stop sign and weaving on the road, and the actor allegedly refused to take a breathalyzer test after the officer pulled him over.
After being arrested on driving while intoxicated charges the previous evening, Justin was pictured leaving jail on Tuesday, June 18, following his arraignment in Sag Harbor, New York. He appeared to be in a melancholy mood as he made his way out of the facility.
The musician, who is 43 years old and is known for his song "Cry Me a River," wore a black graphic T-shirt and trousers, and he wore dark sunglasses and a black baseball cap to disguise his face, In Touch Weekly reported.
