The new album by Billie Eilish is threatening to dethrone Taylor Swift from her position as No. 1 on the sales rankings, and the “Bad Blood” hitmaker is reportedly planning to exploit the conflict as an excuse to destroy her youthful rival.
Sources suggested that while admiring Billie's songwriting, Taylor is enraged by people who think that she doesn't write her own music.
"Taylor clearly feels threatened by Billie and the success she's enjoyed,” an unnamed source told Globe Magazine. However, sources close to Taylor told RadarOnline the rumors aren't true.
It is important to remember that Taylor gave the artist a standing ovation when Billie won the Grammy for Song of the Year in February for her song "What Was I Made For?"
In the meantime, Taylor's album "Tortured Poets Department" has maintained its position at the top of the charts ever since it was released on April 19. According to The Globe, music industry experts have stated that this is partially due to the fact that she has released twenty different versions of the song in order to boost sales and satisfy the appetites of her followers.
It is not a coincidence, according to sources, that the diva who is currently at the top of the charts issued two of these "specials" around the same time as Billie's new album, "Hit Me Hard and Soft," was published on May 17.
According to earlier reports, Billie's new album was reduced to $4.99 in what some people felt to be a stunning move to try and topple Taylor from the top spot on the charts. This was because the record was rapidly gaining momentum with its appealing sounds and soulful lyrics.
Danny Rukasin, who is Billie's manager, also published a tweet that accused Taylor of "breaking her neck" and "doing everything to prevent other artists from shining." Rukasin then deleted the post.
Damon Albarn, a friend of the “Love Story” hitmaker, was the one who made the statement that Taylor "doesn't write her own songs" in January 2022. At the same time, he praised Billie as a "really interesting songwriter" before ultimately apologizing for his words. This is when the animosity between the two vocalists allegedly began.
"Taylor's steaming mad. It's ludicrous to her. She's been writing her own songs since she was a kid. The fact that her songs are often disses at her former boyfriends should prove she's penned them,” the insider claimed.
Now, Taylor is in a relationship with Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. Most, if not all, fans are aware that the “All Too Well” songstress has been involved in a drama with Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Scooter Braun, and Karlie Kloss.
Business Times has reached out to both Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish for comments about the alleged rivalry.
