It comes as a surprise to Matty Healy's famous ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift, that he is engaged to Gabbriette Bechtel, a new report claimed.
Matty proposed to model Gabbriette a little less than a year after his affair with Taylor, which resulted in the creation of an album jam-packed with songs.
“I have known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged. She is everything I would want in a daughter-in-law. I’m thrilled,” his mother, Denise Welch, revealed on June 12.
At the same time that Taylor has moved on with her life, the “Bad Blood” singer was hurt when she learned that her ex-boyfriend, who was a bad boy, was suddenly eager to commit to someone else.
“Matty’s engagement shocked her. He certainly wasn’t the settling down type when Taylor was dating him,” an unnamed source told Life & Style.
In spite of the fact that many people believed that Matty, who has struggled with drug addiction and has been accused of racist, xenophobic, and homophobic behavior, was not a good fit for the pop sensation, who is 34 years old, were hot and heavy from April to June of 2023.
Subsequently, Matty posed as Taylor. Gabbriette, who was 26 years old at the time, was seen kissing the musician three months later.
“Part of Taylor wonders why Matty couldn’t change sooner. But she really is in love with Travis and hopes Matty has found true happiness as well,” the insider claimed.
For starters, the relationship between the singer of the “Midnights” and Matty Healy, the frontman of the British pop-rock band the 1975, dates back to 2014, as per Harper's Bazaar. A chance encounter between the two occurred backstage at one of Healy's concerts in 2014, which led to allegations that they had been having an affair behind the scenes.
Through the years, former lovebirds remained linked with one another, working together on musical projects and openly supporting one another's work. As a result of Taylor’s separation with Alwyn, their artistic kinship developed into a reunion, which culminated in the songstress’ surprise performance at Matt's show in London in January 2023, and later in Matty's trip to Nashville in May 2023 to watch Swift perform in concert on a leg of her Eras Tour.
However, in the end, the romance was not meant to be, and Taylor and Matty ended their relationship after only a few short months of being together.
Business Times has reached out to Taylor Swift for comments.
When Taylor performed at Wembley Stadium in London, she made her fans' wildest dreams come true by performing a show that was completely sold out, USA Today reported.
The American megastar brought her Eras Tour, which is worth a billion dollars, to the nation's capital on Friday night, when she performed in front of an audience of approximately 90,000.
It is stated that Prince William and his children were among the celebrity Swifties who were present at the event, and she described it as an "absolute honor."
Taylor referred to London as "the most exhilarating city in the world" after she had developed her own personal love story with the city. Later on and tomorrow, she will give another performance at Wembley Stadium.
