Mariah Carey is delighted her concert tour and Las Vegas residency have been huge hits—and unnamed sources suggested these success are especially delicious because they are a huge slap in the face to her longtime rival Jennifer Lopez, whose career and marriage are imploding.
Most, if not all, fans are aware that the catty songsbirds have been feuding since the early 2000s when Mariah famously snubbed Jennifer, claiming “I don’t know her.”
“Mariah can’t let go of her grudge against J.Lo, it’s been over 20 years and it’s still burning as hot as ever,” an anonymous insider told Globe Magazine.
Informants claimed Mariah is feeling “very superior” since more dates have been added to her Las Vegas residency, and a 20-city concert tour is set for November and December to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her holiday classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
Meanwhile, Jennifer’s terrible, very bad year continues. Ben Affleck dumped her, and her first studio album in 10 years, a movie about her life, a documentary and a planned tour have all tanked, Hindustan Times reported. Her Las Vegas residency also looks like it might fall through.
“Mariah is extra excited to show she’s still got it after J.Lo had to go and cancel her concert tour. Mariah followed that very closely and tookk a lot of pleasure in seeing her fall on her face. She feels like karma is biting J.Lo in the butt because she’s not as talented as she thinks she is—and way too arrogant,” the undisclosed tipster told the entertainment news outlet.
Another mole claimed that Mariah always complains about how overrated and phony [J.Lo] is. She’s happy the public is finally seeing it too.
“J.Lo knows how Mariah’s been trash-talking her and laughing about her divorce. They have so many pals in common, so of coure J.Lo hears it all second- and third-hand. Now, she’s going to have to suffer the indignity of seeing Mariah take the stage—it’s a huge kick in the teeth,” the tattler explained.
“But J.Lo isn’t giving up. She’s hoping to pick herself up and get the tour back on track once all this mess dies down. And a big motivation will be going head-to-head with Mariah and competing got hrt holiday fan base. It’s hard to believe she’d be thinking that far head, but that’s J.Lo for you, she always has a game plan,” the spy furthered.
