The troubled Western series "Yellowstone" will soon be returning to the airwaves, but according to reports, there is unrest brewing on the Duttons' cattle ranch. The cast members are fighting like cowboys and Indians over Kevin Costner's departure and who will take his position as the head of the property.
Most, if not all, fans are aware that Kevin, who is 69 years old, played the role of family patriarch John Dutton until the year 2023. At that time, he had a disagreement with the show's creator, Taylor Sheridan, who is 54 years old, and then he rode off into the sunset, so putting the production in a state of no man's land.
Despite the fact that the show is finally scheduled to return on November 10, after a sabbatical of over two years, sources claimed that the drama that is taking on behind the scenes is already stirring up a lot of negative emotions.
“A lot of the cast is caught between a rock and a hard place because they want to stay in Taylor’s good graces, but some of them really miss Kevin and feel like it was a huge mistake not to figure out some sort of compromise that would have kept him around,” an unnamed source told The National Enquirer.
Since the beginning of production on the second part of "Yellowstone" Season 5 in Montana in May, there has been a lot of buzz among those who work in the television industry that another full season might be in the works shortly, as per Collider.
“Nothing has been announced yet, but the cast is in talks for season 6,” the anonymous insider told the entertainment news outlet.
It has already been reported that certain members of the cast are throwing their weight about more than they did when Kevin was present.
“When Kevin was a part of the cast, he was the undisputed alpha dog. Now, there are basically two camps — the people who are still loyal to Kevin, and the ones that aren’t,” the undisclosed informant explained.
As per the tipster, the series regulars Kelly Reilly, who is 47 years old, and Cole Hauser, who is 49 years old, have maintained a strong relationship with Kevin and continue to believe that it was a significant error to let him go. In addition, there are those people, such as Luke Grimes, who is forty years old, who don't appear to be looking back at all.
“Without Kevin, there will no doubt be room for a new star of the show, and the competition is on among the cast. Things have already gotten pretty chaotic and petty. So, if the show does end up getting renewed for another season, there’s bound to be some fireworks,” the mole stated.
“There’s a whole lot of fame and money up for grabs, and everyone on the cast seems ready to fight it out to be the new leader of the pack!” it went on.
