The sensual, skin-baring sequin piece that Jennifer Lopez wore on the red carpet at the Toronto Film Festival on September 6 shouted "REVENGE DRESS." In addition, admirers who were very perceptive observed that the "eternity" tattoo she had gotten on her rib cage with the name of her ex-boyfriend Ben Affleck was missing. Jennifer added, "I was like, f--- it," when she put on the gown.
One thing is very clear: Jennifer has at long last moved on.
"But it's only natural for her to still be a little bitter, and so she seems to be making Ben suffer a little," the tattler said, noting that she is not communicating with him, making sharp remarks (such as saying that she is a "bad picker"), and flooding her Instagram account with joyful photographs as if she is undisturbed by their divorce.
"It's almost like she's twisting the knife, and it's getting to Ben," an unnamed source told In Touch Weekly. "Friends fear he may spiral again and that she's driving him back to rehab!"
As far as the source is concerned, Ben has done all in his ability to remain sober, including breaking up with Jen.
"He's had a rough year. The marriage was incredibly overwhelming. She lives a very glam lifestyle, and Ben is often faced with temptation. He was risking his sobriety in that environment. He had to leave to avoid his worst nightmare — a relapse," the anonymous insider said.
When Ben decided to end his marriage, he had no idea that things would become just as challenging going forward. "And she took her sweet time doing so," the undisclosed informant shared, referring to the fact that he let Jen file for divorce.
The couple has not yet been successful in selling their "dream home" which is valued at $60.8 million. According to the insider, their blended family has been split apart entirely, and Jen has essentially "iced" Ben out of the relationship.
"Who can blame her, to an extent? She thought she finally had her happily-ever-after with the love of her life, and then he checked out of their marriage. So if she's making him squirm a little, then so be it," the tipster shared.
In the event that Jen pushes Ben to his limits, something worse could happen. Once upon a time, the actor revealed that his terrible marriage to Jennifer Garner was the driving force behind his drinking. Stress is a major trigger for him.
"I was trapped," he confided in 2021. "I was like, 'I can't leave because of my kids, but I'm not happy, what do I do?' What I did was drink a bottle of Scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution."
"Ben is trying his best to move on," the spy revealed, adding that the actor has been busy over the past four months, working on the filming of "The Accountant 2," managing Artists Equity, the studio that he and his friend Matt Damon established, and getting ready for his next directing project.
"His plate is full. That's just the way Ben deals with adversity now that he's committed to staying sober: He buckles down and focuses on his craft. Jennifer can try to get under his skin, but in the end, it's not going to work. He's not looking back," the mole said.
