On September 22, Olivia Munn and John Mulaney, the parents of Malcolm, who is two years old, announced on Instagram that they had welcomed a girl through the process of gestational surrogacy.

"Méi June Mulaney came into the world on September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon," Munn, who is 44 years old, stated in the description of the post, which featured an image of her holding Méi, which means plum in Chinese, while she sat on Mulaney's lap.

She was unable to carry Méi herself, and initially, navigating surrogacy stirred up "profound emotions," she added in the post. The former star of The Newsroom, who announced in March that she had been diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer the previous year, was unable to deliver Méi herself.

"When I first met our gestational surrogate we spoke mother to mother," she went to explain. "She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel. Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true."

Additionally, she stated, "I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded."

The joyous news was also shared by Mulaney, who is 42 years old, on his Instagram page, where he said, in part, "[They] are in total bliss with Méi and Malcolm. After everything they have been through, there's no tighter, closer little family."

There were three separate occasions that Munn froze her eggs, one of which was after she was diagnosed with cancer again.

Together, she and the actor and former writer for "Saturday Night Live" had the desire to have additional children. "We don't feel like we're done growing our family," she said in an interview with Vogue last May.

Just two months after Munn and Mulaney peacefully tied the knot in a tiny ceremony at the residence of a friend in New York, the couple welcomed their daughter into the world.

The star of the upcoming series Your Friends and Neighbors, which will be available on Apple TV+, gave credit to her soon-to-be-husband for assisting her through the roller coaster of a year. "It would've felt like climbing an iceberg without him," she said in an interview with PEOPLE Magazine in April.

More than a year after her physician, Thaïs Aliabadi assisted in the early detection of her rapidly advancing luminal-B cancer through the utilization of the Tyrer-Cuzick risk assessment calculator, Olivia Munn has now moved on to the subsequent phase of her therapy.

The medically induced menopause that Munn experienced was the result of a double mastectomy and hormone suppression therapy that she underwent in 2023. This year, she will undergo a hysterectomy in order to assist reduce the likelihood of future complications.

The month of August marked the beginning of her treatment with Arimidex, a medication that inhibits the growth of cancer cells.
