Even though it was not an easy process, everything was worth it in the end. According to a new report, Sofia Richie Grainge revealed that becoming a mother was not about collecting baby gifts and taking pictures of her swelling tummy. This revelation came barely five months after the birth of her first kid.
On May 22, 2023, the model married Elliot Grainge, a music executive, in a lavish ceremony in the south of France. The event was attended by several famous people, including Sofia's sister, Nicole Richie, her father, Lionel Richie, and her friend, Paris Hilton, as per Star Magazine. Just a little more than a year later, on May 20, the couple became parents to Eloise. Sofia described the day as "the best day of my life."
However, the process of becoming a mother was not without its challenges. During a subsequent interview, the woman, who is now 26 years old, disclosed that she experienced concerning symptoms when she was 32 weeks pregnant.
She also stated that she was "terrified" to find that she had entered active labor. After spending a total of six days in the hospital, she remembered, "I was begging, 'Please, please let me go home." After that, she was confined to bed for six weeks before she finally gave birth to her daughter.
She was not yet out of the woods at that point. After spending only two days at home with her family of three, Sofia disclosed that she "blew up like a balloon," only to find out that she had developed postpartum preeclampsia, Harper's Bazaar reported. This condition is characterized by dangerously high blood pressure. This time, she was taken back to the hospital for a stay of twenty-four hours.
"The hardest thing I ever had to do was leave my daughter two days postpartum," it was shared by the new mother. Last but not least, after taking medicine for several weeks, Sofia finally regained her feet and became comfortable with parenting. She is now "confident" in her role as a new mother and is enjoying her new responsibilities.
"From the second Eloise was born," she added, "I was like... I can't miss a moment."
The previous month, Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge went out on a date night after laying low the past few months after they welcomed their first child, daughter Eloise, PEOPLE Magazine reported. During their evening out, Sofia looked stunning in a plaid top, black slacks, and maroon heels, while Elliot wore an entirely black ensemble. The new parents were seen holding hands. Certainly, she was able to make the most of everything.
