Kelly Clarkson has acknowledged that she didn't notice how much weight she had put on before she started using weight-loss medication. The "American Idol" alum has lost sixty pounds or more since then.
It wasn't until one day that she witnessed a glimpse of herself captured on camera.
“What the f**k is that?” the “Kelly Clarkson Show” host remembered thinking.
To reduce her body fat percentage, the 42-year-old woman has redesigned her wardrobe by trimming her waist and wearing more form-fitting shapes. According to a source close to the situation, the mother of two is now prepared to move on to the next stage of her transformation.
“She’s regained some weight and doesn’t have that gaunt look anymore, so she wants to rethink her makeup too,” the insider told Star Magazine. “She’s eager to experiment with eyeliners and makeup shades and lip color to bring out her features.”
The judge on "American Idol," who has stated that she "doesn't enjoy" getting made-up and is sensitive to cosmetics, has taken a significant step forward with this decision.
The insider said, “She’s feeling really good about herself and wants it to show.”
After her marriage to Brandon Blackstock broke up, Clarkson, the mother of River Rose and Remington Alexander, was embroiled in a contentious custody fight for a considerable amount of time. However, the two were able to resolve their differences and go on with their lives.
Earlier this year, after she had made news for appearing to have lost weight, the former "American Idol" contestant acknowledged that she had used medication to assist in her weight loss efforts, PageSix reported.
"Mine is a different one than people assume, but I ended up having to do that too because my bloodwork got so bad," the "Breakaway" singer explained. "My doctor chased me for two years, and I was like, 'No, I'm afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems.’ Everybody thinks it's Ozempic, but it's not. It's something else."
Last January, she revealed that her physician had suggested that she begin monitoring her weight.
"But I wasn’t shocked by it. They were like, 'You’re pre-diabetic. You’re right on the borderline.' And I was like, 'But I'm not there yet,'" she shared before she went on medicine.
"And then I waited two years and then I was like, ‘OK, I’ll do something about it,’” she recalled.
Even though some people have speculated that Kelly Clarkson has joined the long list of celebrities who have used Ozempic to lose weight, she claims that her recent weight loss transformation is due to her diet and workout routine.
Moreover, according to the singer of "Since U Been Gone," who was interviewed for a new cover story by PEOPLE Magazine, she has lost weight because she has been listening to her doctor. She did not listen to her doctor in the past couple of years.
And because a diet high in protein benefits her, Kelly said she is pretty good at it ninety percent of the time. She's a female from Texas, and so she enjoys eating meat.
Clarkson, who is 41 years old, also admitted that relocating to her new residence in New York City has enabled her to maintain a more active lifestyle.
